2. I started a business

After several months of ad hoc job applications and half-hearted soul searching, I decided to take a dive and start my own business!

The moment felt right.

It also bodes well with my realization (through my semi-successful soul searching) that I don’t have a strong desire to be a “founder”. I have a lot of ideas, but I have yet to feel strongly enough to go 10000% in and build any of those ideas out. However, I do enjoy the idea of building and growing a business. I could be happy working with a founder, someone who has the conviction and vision, to build out their idea. This was a surprising realization as I had always thought I needed “my own thing” and that although I don’t think I have too much of an ego, that I do have a need to be in the lead.

What I will be doing is the perfect combination of having ownership of something, but not alone. I will be joining the founder of a new Sales Coaching platform, offering a hybrid solution of AI sales agents and expert human coaches. I will set up my own company in Singapore and have exclusivity over the Singapore market, owning my own P&L. Its essentially a franchise model, except I’ll be the first market and we’ll be building out the offer together.

I feel excited about it, but also a bit scared.

I am responsible for building up this business in Singapore now, there will be no paychecks, my earnings will solely depend on my ability to turn this into a viable business.

I’m finally stepping out of my comfort zone and betting on myself!
